Myriad Details of Black Holes :: physics science space
Introduction Definition: Black holes are rapidly spinning stellar bodies of incredible mass. A typical black hole has a mass many times that of our own sun , but the size approaches point density. For all intents and purposes, black holes are singularities, a fact that many physicists find contradictory, since in general the universe abhors a singularity. They are formed when a large sun exhausts its fuel and collapses to a very small volume. Of course, conservation of angular momentum and mass hold true, so as the star shrinks, it rotates faster and faster, and its density becomes greater and greater. Eventually, the star becomes so dense that space-time curves so much in its vicinity that not even light can escape. For more on space-time, click on curved space time at the bottom of the page. Black holes are fascinating phenomena. Only recently have physicists begun to even find proof of their existence, and yet their unique physical properties have extraordinary and galaxies-wide effects. The physics to truly understand the underpinnings of black holes have only been around since 1915 when Einstein conceived and presented his General Theory of Relativity, in which gravity is considered in terms of curved space-time. However, in Exposition of the System of the World, written over a hundred years earlier in 1798, Laplace predicted that masses of sufficient size would have a gravitational attraction so large that light itself could not escape. Stephen Hawking, the author of A Brief History of Time-- perhaps the most successful cogent popular science book ever written-- and an extraordinary physicist, wrote one of the definitive papers on the physics behind black holes. (and then interestingly enough, recanted his once firm belief that black holes even existed--at which time he married his nurse. Physicists are eccentrics in a long and noble tradition. Black Holes Collide "In a looming collision of giants, two super massive black holes are drifting towards a violent merger and an eruption of energy that will warp the fabric of space" Sound like science fiction? It isn't. The words above were written in an article entitled "Telescope Sees Black Holes Merging", by Paul Recer, writer for the online Yahoo Science AP. The article was posted November 19. 2002. The Harvard-sponsored Chandra Observatory has captured for the first time two black holes in orbit around each other in the extraordinarily bright galaxy NGC6240, a mere 400 million light years away. This is no stable orbit.

Computerized System Essay
7.1 Architectural Design 7.1.1 Entity-Relationship Diagram Fig. 7.1.1 Database model On the figure above, the table ââ¬Å"item_descriptionâ⬠contains information about the items in the inventory. This is where the data for new items will be stored and updating of information of existing items takes place. Notice that, the table ââ¬Å"critical_itemsâ⬠has only two attribute which is ââ¬Å"statusâ⬠that identifies the critical item if it is low or not. The ââ¬Å"transactionâ⬠table is where the system stores data regarding individual transaction while ââ¬Å"item_transâ⬠table focuses on list of items and its total price. 7.2 System Function 7.2.1 Physical Data Flow Diagram Fig. 7.2.1 Physical DFD The system mainly consists of functions for sales and inventory management. A customer orders an item and the system checks the inventory by accessing the master item table. New items can be added by the management and the master item record is updated as such. A process computes the total price for the items ordered by using the input from the customer and data(prices) from the inventory master table. After the transaction, receipt will be given to the customer and both the inventory record and sales record are updated. If the system detects any item to be at critical level, a notification will be sent to the management. 7.2.2 User Interface Fig. 7.2.2.1 Main Menu This is the interface where the user has access to all function of the system (Fig. 7.2.2.1). The first thing that will show up when the user runs the system is the button with a text of ââ¬Å"Vâ⬠. When the user clicks the ââ¬Å"Vâ⬠button the five buttons and upon clicking the inventory and report button their sub items will also appear and when the user clicks one of these buttons (Point of Sale, View Inventory, Update Inventory, Add Inventory, Critical Items, View Sales Report, and View Inventory report) the visibility of all buttons will be disabled and then the desired form of the user will appear on the gray space. The sub buttons of Inventory is where the user viewing of inventory and critical items ( if thereââ¬â¢s any ), update, and adding of inventory. The sub buttons of reports is where the user views the sales and inventory report of the system, the help button mainly focuses on how to use it or what we call ââ¬Å"user manualâ⬠and about the system. Fig. 7.2.2.2 Point of Sale Lastly, this form is where the transaction between the manager and the customer takes place. First thing that the user will do is choose an item code and then the quantity for the item and it will automatically compute for the price after that, he will have to click the add item button then the item will appear on the white space on the right side and then a message will prompt if he want to add another or not if he doesnââ¬â¢t want to add another item the uwser will require to input the customerââ¬â¢s payment and clicking the complete transaction button will prompt another message if the user is sure about the transaction. And then if the user is sure, the system will prompt another message if he want to print the receipt or not.

American Freedom and Its Relationship to Government Authority
Slavery Freedom Considering economic policies and the balance of power between national and local government, how did Whigs and Democrats differ in their definitions of American freedom and its relationship to government authority? The Whigs were of the belief that there should be some kind of strong central government. That is involved in a number of activities to include: the building of roads, maintaining of harbors and canals. This was designed to improve commerce among the states and it would streamline the power of the federal government. At the same time, they were focused on having different morals projected to everyone including: temperance and Sabbatarianism. These areas showing how the Whigs definition of freedom is based upon: a strong central government who can protect and enhance it. This meant that the power of the federal government increased in order to achieve these objectives. (The Second Party System, 2011) (Ragone, 2012) A good example of this can be seen with the Bank of the Un ited States. This was established in 1791 by a pro federalist Congress. The basic idea is that trade had been limited between the states because of the lack of standards and coordination. The bank had the authority to print and control money (which improved commerce). This institution is one of the many ideas that Whigs had about the power of the federal government and its ability to deal with a host of challenges. As a result, their definition of freedom is based upon aShow MoreRelatedThe Age Of Enlightenment And The Scientific Revolution1675 Words à |à 7 Pagesrevolution and the scientific revolution represented a giant leap forward in human development, the Age of Enlightenment delivered the greatest influence for the future American society and planted the way for cultural and humanistic enrichment.
